    Taiwan has island climate. And according to statistics from Taiwan Power Company, there are more than 25,000 times of lightning strikes every year in Taiwan, mostly in the mountains. And the majority is metal houses or outdoor electricity box. Meanwhile, there are also 80% of surge happening inside the building. They comes from HVAC system, elevator, air comprossor, water/power switch, and other equipment in the building. Generally, we do not pay much attention to those surge, which mostly cause problem to comupters and to instrument. In addtion to have a built-in fuse, a good surge/lightning arrester/protector would be a better solution.
